OWS qualified CAD designers produce technical plans for electrical and automation installations alike.
However, in this field, the drafting of drawings to requirements is only the beginning of the design process. The complexity of the issue is very often to be found in determining which devices are appropriate for a given environment, and how they will interact with other units on the same network; this frequently becomes a major part of the design task, and is where practical experience in the field pays dividends.
OWS has been able to prepare design details for numerous private clients, and is also called upon to work with organisations implementing large-scale civil engineering infrastructure projects. Our work for the Dubai Mall took the form of liaising with architectural consultants to provide a proposal for lighting (including DMX control) and audio-visual circuits. Here, OWS advised on coordinating and controlling the multi-zone AV requirement, which provided for numerous different arcades, fun-fairs and displays to be treated independently in the City Centre Planet Adventure play area. All systems were designed to coordinate with the main BMS system to cater for AC and HVAC shutdown in the event of fire.
More recently, we have worked with The Atkins Group to provide technical and compliance consultancy for lighting control systems at the projected Jeddah airport in Saudi Arabia. The automated system will provide programmable illumination for the tree nursery and load centres, interfacing with other control systems within the complex.
With the benefits of modern communication, the world becomes the designer's oyster; no job is too remote. In fact, OWS can also muster personnel to work on-site for projects in different parts of the world, as well as providing drawings and components. That’s not to say that your custom is not welcome if you're based in the vicinity of our UK office, however ... .
